Getting Through Grief With Online Therapy

Getting Through Grief With Online Therapy

There are very few people alive today that haven't had to cope with the grief of losing a loved one. The difference in many people is the way they decide to cope with that grief. There are many different ways to cope with the death of someone you love from talking it out with friends to being alone. A new and equally successful way of dealing with grief called online therapy has become popular in the past few years and is helping people get through their pain much more quickly.

Getting through grief can be hard, but it has to be done and you often have to find a therapist that can help you through the worst of it. Below you will find some information about grief and the way going to online therapy grief counseling can help you.

The Five Stages of Grief

Any online therapist can tell you the five stages of grief, it's how they help you to get through them that is important. Below you will find the five stages of grief and a brief explanation of each.

Denial: The stage of this isn't happening to me; it's just a dream.

Anger: Why is this happening to me? What did I do to deserve this?

Bargaining: If you undo this, I will do this.

Depression: I am too sad to go on, get out of bed, or do much of anything.

Acceptance: I am finally at peace with what happened and am ready to move on with my life.

These are the five stages of grief that everyone who has lost a loved one must go through. The problem is that some people just cannot go through them alone. This is when it is a good idea to get into online therapy so that you can get the help that you need to work through the five stages of grief and come out whole on the other side.

Common Signs of Grief

Sometimes it is hard to recognize the most common signs of grief. They range from shock and disbelief to sadness and guilt. Other signs and symptoms include anger, fear, and getting physically sick with everything from insomnia to weight loss. In some cases, it is possible to deal with this grief and move on, in other cases, however, it is just too hard for those who are left behind to get on with their lives and they need a nudge in the right direction. If you are experiencing any of these types of symptoms and feel that you are not moving through the stages fast enough, then online therapy can help you get the help you need to move on.

This is just a little information on grieving the loss of a loved one. If you don't get help with coping with your grief through online grief therapy, then please at least seek someone out to get the help you need. Grief is a powerful and crippling emotion and your loved one wouldn't want you to suffer forever.
