You have come here because you no longer want to be trapped in a cycle of dependency and relapse. Or, you have finally worked up the courage to regain control of your life, and can now admit what your family and friends have been telling you. You have suffered long enough. You need support from a professional.
I have been in private practice since 2009 and have also worked part-time as a counselor in an inpatient alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility using cognitive behavioral therapy as a base.
I am a harm reductionist who believes your journey to recovery and discovery requires both of our expertise. I work together with my clients to develop a plan and timeline that fits the client's needs and wants. We set goals and we strive to accomplish these goals with the understanding that sometimes failure is a part of success. We will delve into underlying issues such as depression, anxiety and psycho=social issues related to childhood trauma or abuse, with an eye towards the future, replacing unhealthy coping mechanisms with healthy coping techniques. This is the first step toward unburdening yourself of the weight that's been holding you down.
Welcome, I am happy that you have found yourself here.
