Life’s challenges can often times feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face them alone. In a warm, supportive environment, we can work together to develop adaptive ways to cope and bring peace into your life. I challenge you to view mental health as a mindset – As you continue to practice, you continually improve. I know this is a hard choice, but you deserve the freedom that it brings!
I’m trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is based on the theory that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected. The way we perceive what is taking place around us causes the automatic thoughts we have in response to them. These thoughts are likely biased based on the long-standing beliefs we hold about ourselves and the world. If we change the thoughts and beliefs that are destructive, we can also change how we see ourselves and the world, and, therefore, our feelings and behaviors. Through a series of sessions, we will work together to teach you how to identify your automatic thoughts and learn to cope with and resolve the challenges that you’re facing.
I graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011 with my Masters Degree in Clinical and Counseling Health Psychology and received my license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2013. Outside of private practice, I have practiced as a mental health therapist within a rape crisis center, community-based outpatient clinic, school-based outpatient clinic, and within in-home settings.
